What is the Ridder Cup?
The Ridder Cup is an annual team golf match organized by Justin Hastings and played at Ridder Farm & Country Club. The matches debuted in 2018 amongst family and friends to celebrate team golf and compete for the right to hoist the historic Ridder Cup Trophy. In the debut year, the contest featured seven matches over the course of two days.
The Course
The construction of the first nine holes at Ridder Farm & Country Club began in the spring of 1960 and was in the former pasture areas of Ridder Farm. Old photographs show brothers George and Paul Ridder laying sod on the first fairway. The holes on this nine are generally short, the fairways are wide and it’s fun to play. The inward nine has a completely different feel than the front. Where the front nine is wide open the back nine was carved out of the woods. The fairways are tighter and the holes are generally longer. This nine was designed by Geoffrey Cornish and built in the early 1960s.
